DIRECT FROM THE FARMER
We started raising Pastured Poultry here at our farm in 2025. We raised a few hundred chickens the first year to test the waters and see how it would go. We quickly realized that our customers were interested in clean chicken.
We buy our chicks from a local hatchery in Wilmar, MN. We start them indoors with heat lamps when they're small and then when their feathers come in we put them outside in their chicken tractors.
The lightweight structure is moved across the field so that they're on fresh ground every day. New bugs to scratch up and they leave their "waste" product to fertilize the grass behind them.
Non-GMO Transitional Organic Feed; Butchered professionally at a facility for a clean, consistent high-quality product.
We sell our chickens as whole birds and parted birds. We are going to be raising 3 separate groups of birds this summer (2026) and our first group of chickens is reserved for our CSA Members. The second two batches of chickens will be processed and available for sale at our Farm Stand and special on-farm sales events.
This year we're almost doubling the number of chickens we raised last season in an effort to have more availability and options for everyone!!
They start inside when they're young. Once they get their real feathers, they're pastured outside.

HOW TO GET YOURS
We will be raising hundreds of chickens on pasture this summer and we'd be happy to send some home with you and your family!
With the seasonality of raising chickens on pasture, we will have availability again after our first butcher dates in June. We've got our chicks ordered and our butcher dates scheduled, ready for a big summer of chickens!!
IN PERSON SALES
We will have chicken available by-the-cut at our Farm Stand in Zimmerman! It's open seasonally from mid-July through the end of Sept, Fri 9-6, Sat 9-6 and Sunday 9-5 at Hudson Hardware in Zimmerman.
We will also have TWO events at the farm again this season where you can show up and buy chicken (and pork, etc) by the package, OR you can pre-order the bundles that I explain below. We will also have Pork Packages for pre-sale for the Fall Sale Event which is a great variety of cuts and a great deal!
So we will have in-person sales and online pre-sales periodically throughout the summer farm season, keep an eye on our social media AND get your name on the email list below to get email reminders about special events, availability, discounts and more!
PRE-SALES INFO
This is new in 2026!!! The first time ever, we're offering pre-sales on whole and parted chickens for our CSA Members so they can get whatever chicken they'd like from our first batch of birds this season.
Later in the summer, we're going to offer this package special to everyone! This will be a great option for our customers to reserve chicken in advance of the summer or fall sale events here on the farm. It always sells out quickly, reserving a bundle is a good idea if you want the variety! **I.e. this is not going to be available year round. To have first dibs, get your name on the email list above! If you are a CSA Member, you don't need to get on a special list as you'll already receive info!

We sell parted birds in bundles of 3, the Chicken Bundle for $115 and it includes:

When you pre-order your Chicken Bundle, you'll notice there is a date you have to choose- when you want to pick up your chicken.

The first butcher date is reserved for our CSA Members, it's noted on that date.

Your Chicken Bundles come in Insulated Tote Bags. When considering freezer space, it would almost fill a brown paper bag.

These are not customizable, however if you go to the Stand or our on farm sale events, you can purchase whatever individual packages you want.

The chicken bundle does save money when compared to the per pound prices of our individual packages; avg value is $135.

We are offering pre-sale on Whole Chickens as well.

The deposit for 3 Chickens is $45. When ordering, you select what date you want to pick up your chickens.

When you come for your chickens, we record the total weights of 3 and calculate the price at $5.75/lb.

Our chickens are professionally processed in a licensed facility. We choose to do that because it offers our customers the cleanest, more consistent product; the bags that the butcher shop uses are high quality vacuum sealed bags.
